Now, 92 and 50 miles per hour wind...

So last night my husband, son, and I had a lovely night. We went out for pizza and then came home and swam in our pool under the stars. We tried really hard to get the dogs in the pool - but no way! Still the rest of us had a really nice night. The water was wonderful and the moon was full, or mostly full. It was great.

We slept with our bedroom door open to the outside because we have a security screen with a deadbolt lock. It was a nice night for sleeping following a great night of family time.

Then today. Oh my. The temperature dropped a lot, 92 degrees. But it felt much cooler because of the wind. And I MEAN WIND! WOW. I think we had sustained winds of 20 or 30 miles an hour and frequent gusts of 50 miles per hour. The sky filled with dust. The mountains were obscurred. Breathing was awful. And the noise was relentless. A constant humming and clanking of wind through the house. My nerves were totally on edge. Weird.

Now at last the wind has died down, the air is cool, the crickets are chirpping. So much better. What a day.

Now. How was YOUR day?

My day was much cooler (thankfully ... I just don't do dessert and heat well at all). On vacation ... enjoyed nice leisurely lunch with my friend Barbara L, planning our trip to Victoria this weekend.

We had strange and big winds here yesterday as well! Very odd. Also cooled things down.

Can I come and swim in your pool?

Ah, swimming under the stars. How grand!

I tagged you for a meme at my place (In all your spare time). It's a quick one...

I like dramatic weather events, but your description does sound like it could be unnerving.
It's clear that you're really attuned to the climate changes from midwest to Phoenix. Fascinating stuff!

Today was and is gorgeous but chilly and windy. Not disturbingly so though. I helped at the Church Senior Lunch and had a BIG nap.
Today subbed a halfday, lunch with hubby, some filing, probably a nap, a baseball game. Seems like a nice day here.

While I was in Arizona, I once took vacation in May to Wisconsin. When I left Phoenix it was 102 when I landed in Milwaukee it was 62. No one could figure out why I was wearing winter jacket the whole time.

I know, not totally related to your post, but it popped in my brain while reading your post and I felt I needed to share.
I think the weather has been coolish. I've been chained to my computer trying to get ahead on a writing project so I can actually have a Memorial Day. (Prospects look good.)
