And making bread is somehow an incarnate thing, investing our labor into its creation and loving it (one hopes) into the nourishment it becomes on many levels. Blessings on yours!altar egohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11564052536173244610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2678482213828648107.post-18850910944610209452010-07-29T13:32:42.670-04:002010-07-29T13:32:42.670-04:00LOL, I just took two loaves out of the oven. I'll report the recipe tomorrow on my blog if it tastes as good as it looks. Blessings for your post. I'm the chaplain at a UCC summer camp up here in the north. As I'm not yet ordained, I can't officially consecrate the Eucharist. Instead, we've been having an (almost) weekly meal that resembles the one you're talking about. After we celebrated the Love Feast, one of our counselors commented that she felt it was holy and was just as much the Body of Christ as any consecrated Eucharist. That got me to thinking. Is it? Can it be? I'm not ordained? We didn't use the Words of Institution? Is Christ, however, able to be present in that bread and in that cup--even if the bread and cup are not presented to the campers as the Body and Blood of Christ?

Peace to you!Codyhttp://www.futureclergy.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
