Standing Still

two out of three parishes that visited recently have called the other person. i wait to hear from one other. and two churches are quiet, who know what direction they are going in? i think i am going to stand still. i think i am going to stay right where i am for now. i wonder what God has in mind for me?

Standing still enough to listen is probably the only way to know. Bless you, mompriest. Discernment is hard work.

That is SO HARD. I had something similar happen to me so many times in my last job hunt. I would think, how many times am I going to come in second? When will it be my turn?

I noticed in one of the two gospel lessons suggested by the RCL for Sunday, that Jesus tells the man by the pool to stand up, take his mat, and walk. I talked in my blog about how powerful it is to stand up. But walking? Where am I going? What am I going to do there? Will it be too far? What will happen to me along the way? It is so hard when you don't even know which direction to face when you stand.

But mompriest, I'm holding you in my thoughts and prayers, and ready to stand next to you. You are lovely, and you are loved, even when the evidence seems to point in another direction. I wish you peace, untroubled thoughts, and clarity. And if that stuff doesn't come, then maybe some chocolate, red wine, Haagen-Dazs Dulche de Leche, and a curl up on the couch with a blanket and a good movie.

Peace and blessings and warm Virginia hugs,
Hedwyg
Mmmm.... whatever God has designed is better than whatever we try to engineer for ourselves. Stillness is good... holy... and yes hard. Peace be with you!
